RCB continues their winning streak! Okay cricket fans, buckle up because yesterday’s IPL showdown between our Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was a total rollercoaster! Played right here at our home turf in Delhi, it was a match that kept us on the edge of our seats until the very last ball (almost!). And guess what? RCB managed to sneak away with a fantastic 6-wicket win in a game where runs weren’t exactly flowing like the Yamuna in monsoon!
Our skipper for RCB, the ever-reliable Rajat Patidar, called it right at the toss and decided to let DC bat first. And you know what? It looked like a smart move early on! Our bowlers, especially the ever-consistent Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the fiery Josh Hazlewood, were just fantastic, keeping those DC batsmen on a tight leash. We did see a spark from Abishek Porel, who came out swinging with a quick 28 off just 11 balls – talk about a power start! But we bounced back beautifully, grabbing wickets at regular intervals to put the brakes on DC’s scoring.
KL Rahul was the rock for DC, holding the innings together with a patient 41. But honestly, he didn’t get much support from the others. Faf du Plessis chipped in with a steady 22, but Karun Nair’s stay at the crease was a short one. Just when it felt like DC might fizzle out, in came Tristan Stubbs with some late fireworks! He smashed a quickfire 34, including some mighty boundaries and a six that had us all gasping. That little cameo helped DC reach what felt like a decent total of 162/8. Big shoutout to our Bhuvi pa for his incredible spell – 3 wickets for just 33 runs! And Hazlewood was right there with him, bagging 2 crucial wickets.

Now, the chase! 163 to win – seemed gettable, right? Well, RCB didn’t exactly have a dream start. We lost three quick wickets in the powerplay for just 26 runs! The DC bowlers, with Axar Patel leading the charge, were all over our top order. But then came the rescue act, starring the amazing Virat Kohli and the ever-dependable Krunal Pandya! These two put on an incredible 119-run partnership that totally swung the game our way.
Virat, even if he wasn’t his usual explosive self, played such a smart and composed innings, anchoring one end with a solid 51. And Krunal? Oh man, Krunal was on fire! Promoted up the order, he played an absolute blinder, smashing an unbeaten 73 off just 47 balls! The boundaries were flying, and those sixes? They were HUGE! He just injected so much energy into the chase.
Even when Virat got out in the 18th over, we were still in a good position, needing just 9 runs. And who else but Tim David to come in and finish things off in style! He smacked a six and then a couple of boundaries in quick succession – pure class! Victory secured for RCB with nine balls to spare!
Man of the Match? It had to be our own Krunal Pandya! What a performance – a fantastic knock with the bat and even a wicket with the ball! And get this – it’s RCB’s SIXTH consecutive away win! Talk about a record! This win pushes us right to the top of the IPL points table – things are looking good, folks! For DC, it’s a tough one to swallow, especially after putting up a fighting total. But hey, that’s cricket! They’ll need to regroup and come back stronger in their next game. What a match though, right? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
Finally RCB continues their winning streak!
